It has been an exciting week at preschool, we have welcomed new children, we celebrated another birthday with chocolate cupcakes, we had a visit from Pitcombe Rock Falconry and we saw the return of Moo music and forest school. On Tuesday the children particularly enjoyed a visit from Alan and Jo who brought Maple, Eddie and Winston to see us. The children were very confident and brave. They used their gentle hands to stroke the owls’ backs before they got the chance to hold Eddie the Owl. Alan spoke to the children about what the owls eat and where they sleep. The children found it particularly amusing when Winston the barn owl flew away from Jo and sat watching us from the roof of the sand pit. The children have also used pens and chalks to create some fantastic pictures of owls. As always, the children have worked together well to build different structures throughout the week but on Thursday morning two of our children created a fantastic rainbow together

with our loose parts. After discussion with Miss Jo about how rainbows are formed, they then added some clouds, the rain and a sunshine! Amazing!! It has been lovely to see all of the Owl related items at Show and Tell time this week, thank you everyone!!

Just a quick reminder that next week is our ‘Decorate your own Pumpkin’ Competition. We look forward to seeing the children’s designs which will be judged on Friday!
